The 2011 Most Versatile Performance
Old English Shepdog Competition

Open to all Old English Sheepdogs entered in at least two different performance venues (herding, obedience, rally or agility) at the 2011 OESCA National Specialty.
To be eligible to win this competition, an Old English Sheepdog must have a qualifying score* (as defined below) in at least two different performance venues offered at the 2011 OESCA National Specialty (herding, obedience, rally and agility) and must be pre-entered in this event (see entry form).

The rules are as follows:

  • The entry fee is $10.00 per OES payable to OESCA.
  • The deadline for entry is Wednesday, September 14, 2011, 6:00pm.
  • The entry should be mailed to Grace Caplan (see entry form).
  • The OES need not be handled by the same person in all events.
  • Points are only awarded for qualifying scores* (as defined below).
  • The OES needs a qualifying score* in at least two different performance venues.
  • One qualifying score (only one score) in each venue will be counted towards the point total ( A maximum of 4 scores).
  • The OES that obtains the highest point total is the winner.
  • The winner will receive a trophy and a rosette.

The scoring system is as follows:

OBEDIENCE:

Both regular and non-regular classes will count towards this competition.
Utility: 50% of total score plus 15 points
Open/Graduate Open/Versatility: 50% of total score plus 10 points
Novice/Graduate Novice: 50% of total score plus 5 points
Beginner Novice: 50% of total score

  • Only one score counts.
  • If an OES qualifies in both Utility B and Open B, the highest score will apply, with an additional 5 points awarded for the additional qualifying score.
  • The OES that wins High In Trial will be awarded an additional 5 points.
  • The OES that wins High Combined will be awarded an additional 5 points.

RALLY:

Rally Excellent: Total score plus 10 points
Rally Advanced: Total score plus 5 points
Rally Novice: Total score

  • Only one score counts.
  • If an OES is competing in both Advanced B and Excellent B, the highest score will pply, with an extra 5 points awarded for additional qualifying score.

AGILITY:

Only highest qualifying score will be counted.
Excellent: Standard, JWW and FAST (preferred or regular): Total score plus 10 points
Open: Standard, JWW and FAST (preferred or regular): Total score plus 5 points
Novice: Standard, JWW and FAST (preferred or regular): Total score

  • Only one score counts
  • A OES that qualifies in 2 out of the 3 classes will be awarded an additional 5 points.
  • An OES that qualifies in 3 out of the 3 classes offered will be awarded an additional 10 points.
  • High in Trial winner will be awarded an additional 5 points.

HERDING:

Both Trial and Test classes will count towards this competition.
HTAD-III: Total score plus 15 points
HTAD-II: Total score plus 10 points
HTAD-I: Total score plus 5 points
JHD: Pass = 80 points
HCT 2nd Leg: Pass = 60 points
HCT 1st Leg: Pass = 40 points

  • The OES that wins High In Trial will be awarded an additional 5 points

* Qualifying scores defined:

Obedience:
For the purpose of this competition, "qualifying score" means any score of 170 or higher in obedience in any of the regular or non-regular obedience classes offered, with the exception of Brace, when offered.

Rally:
In rally a qualifying score is a score of 70 points or higher.

Agility:
In agility standard AKC requirements for earning a qualifying score apply at all levels.

Herding:
In herding the qualifying score for HTAD I & HTAD II is 63, for HTAD III is 70, for JHD, HCT 1st Leg & HCT 2nd leg is Pass.
